I agree with your opinion of the movie. Kinda. But I disagree with your
opinion of the people who like it.
You should attack the movie rather than its fans.
That said, it reminded me of the Brady Bunch Movie(s)... on one hand it
kinda sends-up its source-material, but on the other hand it _is_ a faitful
update to its source (I'm talking about film-noir, not the books). As a
result, it seems to me to be a worthy addition to a long-forgotten,
outdated, outdone, overdone, overcooked type of storytelling that is
probably best left forgotten.
I did like its balls. And I liked its breasts.
But the plot(s), although obviously meant to be clichd, just did nothing
for me. It was one cheap setup for violence after another. You can get that
at a WWF event, but I was never into that either.
That said, as with the books beforehand, I _did_ always feel I was missing
something with Sin City. I don't get it. I "get" what it is doing. I can
_see_ what it is aiming at. But I don't get what it is good about it. I'm
willing to concede that maybe there _is_ something there that I am missing.
And I loved the Phantom Menace too. :)
