And what is the refresh rate set to? For the CRT based MX70 the most you can
use for 1280x1024 is 60Hz (and personally I could not stand the flicker at
that rate). If not already using that rate try setting that combination
manually, using the "List All Modes" button which should be somewhere in the
settings for the display properties.
