Based on what you say I am intrigued then to know why you would
use DVD at all! :-)

The cost per GB of HDD and DVD are no so hugley different.

Is DVD to you, essentially medium for swapping data with friends?

Or maybe your PC doesn't easily support all the hard drives you
would need to have online at the same time?
