Yes, but after reading the manual for the TV and DVD recorder, i'm even more confused than normal. I had the cable box
and dvd recorder set up perfect with my old TV, but this new one has different connectors.
Old TV New TV
3 SCARTS 3 SCARTS
Optical Digital In Optical Digital out
S-Video S-Video
Component out
Audio out

Daft thing is with my old setup I also used to have a Video Recorder attached, so had more connections but easier to set
up. I think the thing that has thrown me is the fact that the new TV does not have Optical Digital in or Audio in and
the only way I can get sound when connected via Component cables is if I also connect via SCART.

Just noticed that my SONY LBT-LX5 Hi-Fi system has both Optical Digital in and Audio in, so may have a go at wiring this
up for the audio out of the DVD Recorder.

Can't be far of 12 months since I purchased it, but have to admit that i've used the hard drive a lot more than the DVD
recorder. I've only recorded and finalize less than 30 DVD's. So not a lot of usage.

You could try out you consumer rights, the equipment is not fit for it's purpose if it's only just over 12 months old,
you have nothing to lose and something to gain. Go here: http://www.dti.gov.uk/ccp/topics1/facts/salegoodsact.htm and
have a look at Q3. Also found the following info on an Argos web site (towards the bottom of the page)
http://www.argos.co.uk/static/StaticDisplay/includeName/replacementCovertandc.jsp.htm "Consumers have certain rights
under the Sale of Goods Act 1979 including the right to claim for repair or replacement of an item for up to 6 years (5
years in Scotland) if when it was sold it was not fit for purpose. After 6 months from the date of purchase the consumer
needs to prove that the item had a fault when it was sold."
