No, the pen I have works fine on a DVD, just as it did on the VCR label.
Dries, but then can be wiped off with a damp cloth (or, more likely, a
licked thumb!). The only question is whether it might do something BAD
to the disk itself, the recording, or the machine? Will it be OK?

That was my fallback position, but SWMBO (and God help me, probably the
kids too) has to be trained in the use of this system, and she won't be
arsed to hunt for the notebook, so I have visions of hunting through a
pile of DVDs trying to find the one with this week's episode of
whatever-it-is... experience with the VCR suggests that my method has at
least a sporting chance of working!
