Don't know about the Asian versions, but the UK versions are not that
impressive IMO.
There has been no attempt to clean up the picture in any way at all.
Even a mild noise reduction would have made a hell of a difference.
As it is, I've calulated that each episode is encoded at a bitrate of about
4000-4500 which is not really enough when the source material is so poor.
Probably not a problem for those who view their DVDs on CRT televisions, but
as I often use a large LCD monitor, it doesn't look too impressive to me.

They are overpriced.
