It sounds like you used TMpeg to create VCD MPEGs.
VCD audio is 44khz
DVD is 48khz so you need to run the original files through TMpeg again and
this time create a DVD type MPEG.
TMpeg has a wizard which should guide you through this proccess.

Then you can download a trial version of TMpeg DVD Author and make the
necessary VOB files ready for burning.
