Absolutely right John. I read somewhere that Sony's first of the new XDCAM
HD cameras will be demonstrated at IBC and will be released around April
next year. 36 Mb/s MPEG2 etc. Sony are positioning it above HDV and below
HDCAM. There are higher bit-rate (72Mb/s) versions planned which would tend
to suggest Digibeta's days are well and truly numbered.
