actually i did reformat the drive and then installed studio 9 and updated
all drivers. total crash fever. in fact, at one point i started up studio
9, loaded a project, and walked to my desk to find out what i was to do next
on this project from another computer and while reading for about 3 1/2
minutes, i got up started to the brand new media computer (dual core 3.0 GHz
with 1 Mb L2 cache each) and while walking toward that machine, the dialog
box popped up which said, "Studio 9 has encountered an error and needs to
close" and it pissed me off so, that i ignored it for nearly half an hour
and the net result was that it locked the machine up completely for about 4
minutes after depressing <cntl><alt><del> and stopping studio manually.
what a disaster this studio 9 is. i was on the phone with pinnacle tech
support all afternoon and one of the call ins the tech said, "hey your not
alone" reminded me of a phrase i've heard when dealing with ET's :o) that
is something from outer space :o)
