Limiting is a form of "automatic level control" (ALC). Some forms
of ALC in cheaper equipment causes significant degradation of the
sound track as louder parts of the sound get "hammered" down to
whatever the camera thinks is "safe". For example it makes most
attempts at recording music unacceptable.

Since this is a higher-end camera (even the FX1), one would hope
that the limiting would be more reasonable. If it is well-behaved it
might be perfectly acceptable for 95% of all dialog tracks you will
encocunter. However, I wouldn't plan on recording music with it
unless you test it first.
