I'm only 46, so I don't remember Camille. I saw the film "A Lady Named
Camille", though, and it was awe-inspiring. The 80 mph was in our
sheltered courtyard. I have to believe it was more out in then open. I was
somewhat touched by Koppel's concern for us - - both on the air and off via
the IFB. He wanted us off the streets and into the bunker.

I guess it was worth it. But I'm not so sure I would have said that when it
was happening.

During Katrina, we stayed at Sherrif Lee's Avondale Palms Casino/Truck Stop.
They were super nice to us - - fed us with the cops for 5 days, let those
of us who drink (I don't) drink free in the bar, gave us electricity and
water, all with a generous spirit.

Yeah. I will do things differently next time. For Katrina I was working
for RTE (Irish TV), and they sent a suggested list of stuff like that for me
to bring. This time for ABC, they said to just come, and they would provide
for us. I'm told by the other crew members that ABC usually is good about
this, but the producers we had just weren't good enough advocates for us, or
didn't care. (more likely).

I don't know what an LRRP is, but I agree that it's a young man's game.
