First, pick a file format. At
http://www.uwm.edu/~elsmith/videofileformats.html it looks like MOV
would be a good choice on the Mac, but there are other possibilities.

Second, pick a media. My choice would be an external USB connected hard
drive. I noticed the other day that Sam's club has some pretty good
prices on these. The latest ones are very compact, and do not require
an external power supply. You can also use this later on for doing
system backups.
