The hard drives back is always a good idea, but in the meantime why
not burn the AVI files to a DVD so he will have the pleasure of
viewing them now. Hopefully, he has a player that will support
playing AVI files or you will have to do extra work. What I would
also worry about is just what AVI standard you are going to use. There
are more than a few. You could also look into a Divx compression. I
thing the file format can really be a problem.
