I had Pinnacle Edition for a year through three upgrades. At some
point it took me three days to edit a film that should have taken one.
At that point I'd had enough and invested the money in an eBay Mac and
Final Cut Pro. No more troubles no more crashes, no more demands to
insert disc etc etc.

I think you can tell the quality of software from the discussion on the
main support groups. The Edition site was always full of complaints and
requests to Pinnacle for help, mostly either unanswered or unhelpfully
answered. I monitored the FCP sites for a while before I spent money
and the difference was amazing - no whingeing, no crashing, just how-to
requests. I still have Edition on the pc and sometimes I have to go
back to it - and realise why I spent all that extra money on FCP.
