A great many of us use Firewire to capture DV25.
Most of us on desktop computers, perhaps a few on
laptops. Why do you ask? What is special about doing
this on a laptop in your situation?

Most people likely use their NLE software (Premiere,
etc.) Some use standalone capture software like
Scenalyzer, DVIO, etc. Dunno why desktop vs.
laptop is significant?
