Hi all.
I have a Sony VX2100 and an Audio Technica AT815B shotgun mic. I need
an XLR breakout box and was about to pull the trigger on the Beachtek
DXA6

But then I saw the DXA4, which was listed as the box "for Sony
DCR-VX1000, VX2000 and VX2100 Camcorders"
http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=cart&A=details&Q=&sku=136397&is=REG
I like the former DXA6 for two reasons:
1) it supplies phantom power
(I may use a 2nd condenser that requires external phantom,
even though the AT815B takes a battery)
2) its input impedence is listed as "Nominal 600 ohms"
This is closer to the AT815B output impedence of
Phantom 500 Ohms
Battery 600 Ohms
The DXA4 is "Nominal 200 ohms",
which causes me to worry that the AT815B is a bad match
So it seems logical to me that the DXA6 is a better fit for my needs
and mics, but when I ran into the DXA4 "for Sony VX2100", I'm worried
that the DXA6 will somehow not work.
Can anyone shed some light here?
Thanks, Chris
