If you need phantom power, you have no choice but to get
the DXA-6. Don't give the impedance stuff a second thought.
What you were reading was written by people who know
even less about it than you do (copy-writers!) All of the
Beachtek products were designed to used with virtually
all modern low-impedance balanced microphones.

The different versions for different camcorders amounts
to where the holes/mounting studs are located, and the
output cable. Electronically, they are all virtually
identical.

Remember that you can go directly to the source to get
more complete information including downloading the
documents, etc. and viewing better pictures showing the
differences...
