I just built a machine using the P4D Smithfield 820 2.8GHz dual core
processor on the Intel D955XBK motherboard. It is approximately
eight times faster than my P4 2.6GHz on an Intel D875PBZ rendering
under Premiere Pro 1.5.
I'd look for a board with the 955 north bridge socket-T (LGA 775)
at least 4 SATA connectors, PCI Express x16 video,.and
1394 connector(s).
The D955XBK also supports P4 and you could upgrade to dual
core later.
