I have a sony TRV330 digital camcorder with firewire connection. Whenever I
hook it to my PC (winXP, P4, 1gig ram, firewire onboard) it blows the
camera. I normally plug Sony CC in and power it up. It comes on, then powers
off. DEAD. will not come back on. Had to send to Sony for repair, and told
it was some problem in the electronics of camera. That was the first time.
I don't hook it up often. Good thing, I guess, because I just hooked it up
for import again, and same thing. Camera powered up, went dead. Will not
power up now. Hmm.
Is the computer supposed to be OFF when you hook these up? I hook up
external firewire HDD's all the times with no problem. But this Sony CC
keeps blowing something inside.
any help, advice or insights would be appreciated.
