Both Roxio Media Centre and Intervideo DVDCopy have compression
capabilities (I prefer Roxio). However, neither of these products is
freeware.

Perhaps you need to concern yourself with the question of why DVD
Shrink is complaining. If there's something not quite right with your
files, it is possible that other programs will also have the same
complaint.
