Running what software?
The software has to be written/compiled to take
advantage of SMP (Symmetric MultiProcessing).

Hardware (microprocesor) capabilities always
arrive on the scene ahead of the software that expolits
those capabilities. It has been like this for years. No
particular surprise that we are waiting for application
vendors to enable SMP today.
