I lurk here now & again, as I do a little sound & video work. I've just
done exactly this sort of thing using Pure Motion's Edit Studio version
2. They're up to version 5 now & it seems to still have all the bits needed.
I layered the sound & video tracks & imported the pictures as .jpg files
into two layers, ending up with 5 layers altogether, including an
effects layer for the transitions.
Once i'd tidied up the pictures, it took about an hour to put together,
aligning picture changes with the musical tempo.
