I do, though it's possible that skiing would be problematic with the
MPEG-2 compression: I've never tried shooting skiing footage on HDV so
I can't guarantee that it would work.

I think the HC1 is the only HDV camera that would be available for that
price, other than the original JVC (HD1?) which is generally regarded
as quite poor. Not sure about DV.
