ATTENTION ALL NON-LINEAR VIDEO EDITORS AND ANIMATION PRODUCERS!
If you are using Premiere Pro, Vegas, Maya, Lightwave, 3d Max, etc, this system is for you. It is
affordable, yet has enough horsepower to accomplish most demands. If you do not have $5,000 for the
system you want, this is a great way to break into video editing at a reasonable price. If you were
to buy all of these components today, they would still cost a bit over $2000! (plus tax and/or
shipping!). For less money, you can have a precision machine that has been well taken care of and
is already built, configured, tested and ready to go. I am Microsoft Certified and a MICROSOFT OEM
SYSTEM BUILDER.
This is an amazing, powerful system used for editing UNCOMPRESSED video. I was capturing video at 22
MB/s and playing back 5 layers of video with no problem. This is a serious editing machine built
from some of the finest components available when it was built in January 2002. I used it for
approximately 100 hours and it is blazingly fast. I paid $4000.00 for it but, that means nothing to
you today. Prices have dropped dramatically, so my loss is your gain. I have upgraded to a much
faster, more expensive system.
The Supermicro P4DC6+ Motherboard alone cost me nearly $700! It was so advanced for it's time that
it will allow you to upgrade to 2GB memory and Dual 2.4 Xeon processors. Dual cpu's are great for
rendering projects.
Make no mistake. This is not an entry level computer by any stretch of the imagination. If you are
into video editing or animation, this is for you. I have the original Supermicro Motherboard box
with manual and all of its contents.
Optional Upgrades - I am not trying to up-sell you. This workstation is great the way it is. You
may, however, want some upgrades.
The current OS is Windows 2000 Professional.. You can wipe it and load your own copy of Windows XP
on if you want. If you want me to install legal copy of Windows XP Home Edition, add $125. You get
an original CD. Being Microsoft Certified, I do not deal in counterfiet copies of Windows).
If you would like to upgrade to a DVD+/-RW Drive add $65.
Since you are working with graphic-intensive applications, I could upgrade the current VGA card
with either a 128MB VGA card ($75) or 256MB card ($135). Keep in mind that I was editing complex 5
layer streams of video, audio and graphics and never had a problem with this card.
SHIPPING
I will most likely ship FedEx Ground. I did not see FedEx as an option when I was creating this
auction so I chose UPS Ground. I am sure the rates will be similar. I also require insurance, which
is an additional $10.
