But maybe somebody else reading the review has never seen the movie or
series. For example, someone who doesn't subscribe to HBO might be very
interested in seeing what all the hullabaloo was regarding "Six Feet
Under" or "The Sopranos" and they can do that by buying or maybe renting
the box set. Would such a person be as concerned about the quality of
the transfer or the extras? Probably not. They'd probably want to know
what the reviewer thinks of the actual show.

Of course, there are dozens of sites reviewing DVDs so I'm sure
everybody can find something to their liking. But I will say that DVD
Verdict reviews a lot of titles that I have never viewed either in the
theater or on television. And for me to spend money to see it either
via purchase or rental, it's more important to me to know the quality of
the movie or show. But that's just me and your mileage may vary. And
if something posted in the newsgroup interests me at all, I can always
go the site and read the entire review.

It just seems odd to me to see an overall score of 80 (which is fair to
good, one would think) for a product and have the reviewer have such a
negative opinion (60, which is poor) of the actual show.
