At the risk that someone reading this calls me stupid, I'll see if my
experience helps you. As you'll soon realize I'm no expert... but I had a
similar problem. I was a devoted Pinnacle user & had so much trouble with
hanging or freezing during rendering that I decided to uninstall any thing &
every thing that was part of Pinnacle, but nothing changed & my computer was
still freezing. Called the repairman, he couldn't find anything until he
took a look a the case fan & there were tons of lint, dust or whatever. He
told me that he was not sure that was the cause of the problem but added "if
the fan does work properly heating will occur & that will slow down the
computer & rendering may be affected". My computer is now working fine &
since I've re-installed Pinnacle Studio 9 Plus and... it's also working
fine!! Sorry Quick Hare if this does not help & hope you sort out your
problem soon.
