 Thanks Denzil, it sounds like it may not be worth the risk. I have
 four unfinalized discs created on a Sharp vhs/dvd-r recorder and
 hopefully will replace with a straight Panasonic dvd recorder.
 
 That brings up one other question. If a dvd-rw was created on the
 sharp using VR but the panasonic only uses video method will it
 recognize and format the disk or will it ignore it? I think it PLAYS
 VR discs, but only records video (which is a shame as I rather enjoyed
 the VR format)
