In my experience, deep analysis distributes the bitrate to the places
that need it most (high action scenes), whereas not using it results
in a more even bitrate distribution, regardless of whether the scene
needs extra bitrate or not.

AEC helps remove artifacts such as off color pixels from scenes whose
bitrate has been significantly reduced due to compression. This
problem isn't often noticable except in cases where alot of
compression has been applied to make the video fit on a DVDR.
