I have a new Sony RDR-VX515 DVDR/VCR combo. When I record from my
Cox/Magnavox DVR to the Sony DVDR, every minute or so, a message screen
will come up saying that the recorder can't record copy protected
material. When I play back the DVD, there are blank screen dropouts
and/or frozen images that appear every minute or so.

Since the DVR does not have copy protected information on it, does
anyone know why I'm getting these messages and what the workaround
might be. I did not have these problems going from the same DVR to an
older Philips DVDR, which has since died.

I had seen one posting on Usenet that said the Sony couldn't record
from Tivo. I'm wondering if I have a similar situation here.
