My next project involves transferring some analog 8mm camcorder tapes toDVD. I came across an assortment of V-Stream PVR and video capture products
at a local store. One is the Xpert TV-PVR (external USB2 box) which encodes
from a built in TV tuner or analog input to MPG 1/2/4 & AVI for $70 (US).
Another is the Xpert TV-PVR 883 which has similar features but is an
internal PCI card for $60. They both come with a remote control for use as a
PVR with a home entertainment system.

They advertise a lot of features for not a lot of cash. Does anyone out
there have any experience with this line of products? I already Googled
user reviews of V-Stream products and read a few positive ones.

Also, any opinions as to the performance difference between an external USB2
device versus an internal PCI card?
