 They are *very* happy to help people.  And, if you had given them some
 examples of real, reproducible bugs you had found, they might have *asked*
 you to become an alpha tester (the betas are actually available for anyone
 to download, use, and test).
 
 But, demanding a free copy when they have no clue if you really know
 anything at all about video isn't a good way to start a relationship.

 They have quickly addressed many issues I have had with either outright
 bugs, unusual design choices, or just plain lack of features.  Two beta
 versions ago there were many issues that made that version painful to
 use, while the latest clears those up.  It introduced a couple of very
 minor cosmetic issues in the interface, which should be fixed by the next
 beta.
