Hi Randy,
 No what I was meaning is a dvd disk in my computer's drive - from which I
 want to copy only a small clip.
 
 I did once have a DVD ripping programme which allowed me to state the start
 point and the end point and then burn that clip to hard drive - can't see
 how to do it in Roxio
