No, quality is lost going from DVD to Avi. Going back UP isn't going to
jeopardise it. Avi (Divx) is a compressed format. DVD isn't.

I don't have a divx player - so going to a compatible DVD is far
easier....also doesn't restrict me when I want to watch it on a different
standalone DVD player.
