Then, you don't know anybody that cares about quality. I don't store my
music files as WAV, but I do store them lossless (at about 2:1 compression).
For portable use, they get converted to MP3, but I still have the full-
quality original when I need it.

For video, I always save to lossless before editing my own stuff (temporary
recordings that are having commercials cut can stay in MPEG), and quite often
keep a copy of all but the worst original footage forever in a lossless
format so that I can always go back and do it again.
