Verbatim MCC discs were once touted as second only to Taiyo Yuden.
That's like comparing a Mercedes to a Ferrari.

But recently CDFreaks posters have reported what I experienced
personally, namely that you could get a bad batch, even from the
approved MCC plants. The spindle I got at Sam's Club (16x DVD -R) is
not good. There are obvious dye slotched on the disc after burning. I
only have a handful left and I am using them for burns that I do not
care if they go bad in a year. After that it is TY period, absolutely
no substitutes. I expect an occasional bad disc, even from TY, but I
do not expect 10 coasters out of 85 burns like with that batch of
Verbatims.
