I have stocked up on DVD-RAM 3X speed media for the past 18 months
since these came out. In recorders there is no need to have faster
speed media as recorders all record at only 1X. Its only dubbing back
for those with hard drives that a faster speed is required.
DVD-RAM costs much more but then again lasts up to 100,000 re writes.
The DVD-RAM disc that came with my Panasonic DMR-E30 DVD Recorder back
in April of 2003 still goes well.

Handy in DVD Recorders though. If a show is on or of you want
something recorded that's currently on, just pop the DVD-RAM disc and
start recording.
