The best test for playback is placing it on a Sony PS2 console which
are very fussy to what they will play. If they play in that then
they'll generally play in anything. Quite a few authoring businesses I
know have the Sony PS2 for this very reason.
Nero Speed DVD only like a few of the brands of drives for full
testing. BenQ drives works best for Nero Speed DVD.
DVD Info is another program that does scans of the media.
It is not a program that works on my system. Something clashes with
DVD Info on my setup so have to use the other methods of testing.
There is an international standard for all this.
It is the ECMA standard.
Max PI error spike.
The ECMA standard must not exceed 280 within any 8 consecutive blocks.
Max PIF error spike.
No block should have more than 4 PIF errors.
If you require more info then please email me and I'll attach a
document which explains this in more detail.
