The color problems you are experiencing are the result of improper white
balance. White balance compensates for different spectral intensities of
different light sources, e.g. daylight contains more blue, indoor
incandescent light more red, etc.

Most consumer camcorders adjust white balance automatically. It sounds like
your camcorder is a little slow. If you don't want to wait for the
camcorder to figure it out, check and see if your camera allows manual white
balance. Alternatively, it might have white balance presets, e.g. "indoor,"
"bright sun," etc.
