CDSpeed will cover your needs. It covers performance tests and burn
quality tests. Though you will save yourself a fair bit of time by
just reading the CDFreaks forums and starting out with a decent brand
of media. Not all the supported brands of media will necessarily give
you good results. It's attached to Nero, but this particular
component is released separately as freeware.

DVDInfoPro is similar in concept, but it's shareware, meaning you have
to pay for it. Featureset isn't quite as extensive, but it seems to
have a few unique features. The biggest negative seems to be that the
author tends to take criticisms on his program a bit too personally,
and gets into these Derek Smart like arguments on the CDFreaks forums
from time to time.

KProbe probably wouldn't be of much use to you, as that program has
traditionally been heavily tied to LiteON brand burners (which yours
isn't). The link you provided actually says this on the first post of
the thread.

I'd suggest you start by looking at the Forums on CDFreaks and see
which media is truly recommended by users and start from there. That
way, you won't waste so much time and money buying low grade media.
