I have an external FireWite on a Pentium 2.4 GHz, no problems in
~one year and many CDs/DVDs. The key issue was not to use the machine
for other tasks while burning is in progress. "was" as in several years
ago (when CPUs where measured in MHz and not in GHz), not sure this is
still true.
