OK... I need help folks.
I do not have a capture card and therefore am capturing the camcorder clips
to an external DVD Recorder (LG RH7500). I then want to copy this onto the
PC and convert into AVI file for editing into a final movie which will
either be saved as a videoCD or eventually a DVD when I eventually purchase
a DVD recorder.
In my PC I have a DVD player which allows me to import the files.
I have managed to decompile the VOB files onto the PC, (then removed the DVD
from the drive) and then managed to get the VOB file on the PC to play in
WINDVD with VIDEO and AUDIO.
I have since tried to convert this VOB file into an AVI with sound, and that
is where my headache starts. I have managed to get an AVI with video, but no
sound. I have also managed to get an M2V file which will play in VOBEdit,
and I have managed video only AVI results with VirtualDub MPEG.
I have tried everything I can think of with the following utils in every
combination I can think of and still no success. DVDDecrypter,
VirtualDubMpeg, VOBEdit, AGK (link found in videohelp.com).
I have also downloaded VOB2MPG but need the 2.0 net framework and want to
know if this is the way to go before clocking up a large download.
Please, Please, Please can someone tell me where I am going wrong - or
better still tell me the way to go. All I want to do is convert the data
within the VOB file which seems to contain both video+audio into something
like AVI or such that I can edit my clips together as desired.
I do not want to use MS MovieMaker as it only saves as a WMV file which
leads to another set of problems where I do not want to go.
I thank everyone in advance for any useful feedback.
Terry
