The specs for the unit say bitrates to 4 mbs using USB 1.1 and 16 mbs
for USB 2.

Some reviews suggest you do NOT use the capture direct to CD/DVD but
instead capture to hard drive, then edit and create DVD.

I would not try running other applications while capturing and I would
shut down most other tasks running unless you have a very fast
processor.
