Hello, I got this DVD, CD burner for a present. It's a Micro Advantage
Superdrive DVD + RW
DVD & CD rewritable drive. Model: 8DVDRW-B13. Internal. I've been to
their website for help but haven't heard anything back from them. The
drive I'm replacing is only a DVD and CD reader so I just swap them
out. Making sure I put the jumper in the master position. I fire up the
puter and winxp recognizes the new hardware and does it's thing. I
check in "My Computer" and sure it's there. So I put in a music CD and
it doesn't recognize it. The light just flickers on and off for a few
minutes while the CD inside keeps spinning and stopping. I try several
CD's that I know work in other CD devices. Same results. Ok now I'm
thinking this thing is f'd up. Now I put in a DVD movie and it plays it
just fine. So now I think windows messed up, so I uninstall it in the
Device Manager and reboot. Same results.
My computer is a Dell Dimension 8250 running winxp home edit. w/service
pak 2.
Pentium 4 CPU 2.65 GHz
512 of Ram.
Any ideas? Thanks, Dan.
