Most all consumer tvs have whats called overscan. SOmetimes it can be
adjusted depending on the tv, and if you can find the instructions on how to
do it without messing up your tv...a very loose rule of thumb is the better
the tv, the less the overscan...on a crappy no name 27" tv from Walmart or
some small dept store, its quite possible that due to overscan, an entire
ticker banner, like line scores from ESPN or some such channle, could be
completetly off the screen....
