So, a little while ago I decided to stop by Wally World on the way home from
work, with the specific intent on purchasing Land of the Dead.
I saw two versions - the theatrical cut, and the unrated director's cut -
BOTH PAN & SCAN!!!!
It seemed that the widescreen DVD's had sold out....now, LOTD was a good
film & I am a Romero fan, but I was a bit surprised that this disc went so
fast....
By sheer luck, however, one of the Wally World employees managed to find a
special "two-pack" - Land of the Dead packaged with some cheesey old DVD
documentary entitled Boogie Men, featuring clips from famous horror films.
The two-pack was the same price as the pan & scan DVD, $19.96.
I thankfully took it.
So, watch out when you shop for LOTD, because there are two versions in pan
& scan, and I don't know how many versions in Widescreen - and if you spot
the two-pack, grab it as all the rest of the Widescreen versions may have
already sold out!!
