I have an older Panny home recorder and an older
Pioneer pc burner both of which were bought when
1x was the only thing available and they both
record/burn and play 1x, 2x, 4x, 8x and 16x media...

.... the tech is either clueless or it could just be
the Sharp unit isn't the best on the market.
