I am recording a weekly radio show in XP mode for the best audio
quality LPCM. I have noticed when re-encoding these recordings using
FR mode the audio mode stays in LPCM. What I'm wondering is whether
the audio is likewise unaffected if I compress the recording down to
the longest play mode available. The reason I ask is because I'm not
at all interested in the picture quality and this would save a great
deal of space. A further question - if I store these compressed
recordings on DVD-RAM and bring them back to the recorder, will it be
a bitwise copy? Any help gratefully received...

The model is DMR-E85H.
