Hope that somebody can give me some advice. I've come across this
problem on NUMEROUS dvd discs that I've purchased.

While I'm playing a dvd movie the dvd player will start making a
clattering sound. I assume it is coming from the disk. Then the movie
will stop for a few seconds, as if the machine is in Pause mode, before
the playing resumes. Other times when I hear this clattering noise, the
sound and the picture on the screen will be out of synchronoization.
The picture will be frozen, but the peoples voices will keep on going.

I've tried cleaning the heads of my dvd, and I've tried cleaning the
disks that are causing the problem. So far this hasn't helped. It seems
that most of the disks which have caused this problem were purchased
from Amazon.com.

Not sure if the problem is with the dvd player, or with the dvd disks.
Would appreciate any ideas or advice.
