The Panasonic DMR-EH50 DVD recorder has a 80Gb internal HDD. You end up
making all recordings to the HDD and then (after you have watched it) either
deleting or editing and archiving to DVD. Editing on the HDD is remarkably
seamless and the space from anything deleted is made available again (not
just hidden)
