Hi group,

This may be a very stupid question.

Are some HD DVD recorders analog in some
way or are all digital?

I need to replace my VCR and have been looking
at the Sony RDR-HX710 which has been given
a good review here.
Then I found somewhere on Google that there
is a RDR-HXD710 with an extra D in it, that is
for "Digital".

I already have a decoder and do not need to
buy another.

I would really like to be abe to record, and later
replay, in quality as good as digital TV, or almost.
